2nd Call for Action on Hotel Club Mac in Alcudia on Majorca!

HolidayTravelWatch is making its 2nd call to action this holiday season for the Hotel Club Mac in Alcudia on the island of Majorca. In its earlier press release, this Organisation set out its past and present dealings with holiday complaints from this hotel and called for immediate action to protect intending and present holidaymakers.

It is with regret that HolidayTravelWatch reports continuing calls to its helpline, which reveal the following problems:

  1. Reports of many holidaymakers suffering with illness;
  2. Illness consists of vomiting and diarrhoea;
  3. Holidaymakers spending most of their time in their rooms due to sickness;
  4. A Chef was seen to be using the same utensils when working with raw and cooked meats;
  5. Question marks over whether meat was properly cooked;
  6. Concerns of ant infestation;
  7. Concerns over the cleanliness of the swimming pools;
  8. Anger over lack of concern or action taken by the holiday company representatives!

“I had hoped that after our previous press release, that we would hear of urgent action and reassurance being taken to protect Consumers from the risk of illness”

“Instead, we hear of continuing problems and those intending holidaymakers being advised that they cannot change their holiday, or, if they cancel they will lose their money, or, if they are allowed to change then they have to pay extra!”

“It is clear that there is a problem or a fundamental issue here given the complaints we are receiving; tour operators and the hotelier really must get a grip of this situation. In addition, travel companies need to accept that given the potential risk to health & safety in these holiday contracts, a significant change has occurred and rights under the Package Travel Regulations should be given to all intending holidaymakers.
