Network Services Contract Reduces Costs, Adds Capabilities

Richmond, Virginia, August 17, 2006, In the competitive marketplace of consumer electronics, Circuit City Stores, Inc., a leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, looked to AT&T for support in offering its customers an excellent experience when they interact with any of Circuit City’s sales channels — retail stores, online store and call center.

To assist Circuit City with its multi-channel strategy, AT&T implemented a converged multi-media networking solution that accommodates voice, video and mission-critical enterprise applications on a single network infrastructure. Circuit City also uses AT&T’s high-speed Internet access service to provide retail customers and store associates with access to Web-based resources, such as circuitcity.com.

These AT&T solutions allow Circuit City to securely share data between locations and to deliver on its 24/24 Pickup Guarantee. Items that are ordered online can be picked up at a specified store within 24 minutes of the order being placed. If the order is not ready, the customer receives a $24 gift card.

Circuit City also uses advanced features provided by AT&T’s toll-free voice network to ensure that its customers receive the best possible service when interacting with the high-volume Circuit City customer contact center.

“Circuit City strives to make our customers’ experience the best across all of our delivery channels,” said Michael Jones, senior vice president and chief information officer of Circuit City. “Our new agreement with AT&T provides a strong, cost-effective foundation, as we enhance the way consumers purchase electronics across these channels.”
