Virginia-Based Social Experiment Encourages National Participation During
Cake! A Teacher Week April 21 – 27
“I’ve had an overwhelming amount of nominations for teachers, even entire schools,” says Bruce. “How would I pick just one? Teachers are what make the world go round and Batter Up can’t possibly reach all of them. That’s where Cake! A Teacher Week comes in.”
Richmond, Va. – Batter Up, a Richmond Va. food-based social experiment, announced its largest reward to date, encouraging fans nationwide to participate in:
Cake! A Teacher Week April 21 – 27.
Cake! A Teacher Week, inspired by hundreds of single nominations of teaching professionals to Batter Up, suggests people bake cakes to honor their favorite teachers during the weeklong event.
Batter Up, a project launched July 1 by Richmond graphic designer Ryn Bruce, surprises deserving or “cake-worthy” members of the community every week. Cake recipients, typically selfless contributors to their communities, are nominated through the Batter Up website.
“I’ve had an overwhelming amount of nominations for teachers, even entire schools,” says Bruce. “How would I pick just one? Teachers are what make the world go round and Batter Up can’t possibly reach all of them. That’s where Cake! A Teacher Week comes in.”
