Trial by Fire Film Premiere 03Jun14 Edmonton Charity Event To Celebrate Courage Of Burn Survivors

Fire can happen at any time, without warning and survivors can be left with devastating scars. A new documentary film called ‘Trial By Fire: Lives Re-Forged’ celebrates the courage & strength of burn survivors as they reclaim their lives after the devastation of fire.

This film is featured in a charity fundraising reception which is being hosted in a partnership between Dr Barry Lycka, Edmonton Cosmetic Dermatologist, and About Face, a Canadian organization dedicated to supporting individuals with facial differences. The exclusive screening of this film will be on June 3, 2014 at the University of Alberta. The Canadian filmmaker, Megan Smith-Harris, will also be on hand to answer questions.

In his latest video, Dr Lycka talks about the film, and the event he is hosting with the About Face charity. He sees the struggle burn victims face through his work with them on scar correction. He shares an inspiring recent success story, and as Dr Lycka reports, most scars can be improved in terms of function and movement, and many scars can also be improved in terms of appearance. Dr Lycka encourages people with scars to find out what options they have for scar correction and to take advantage of these latest advances in treatment and results.
