Is Sherri Donovan’s New Client Mob Wife Renee Graziano?

If you saw the recent episode of the hit VH1 show Mob Wives you would be right in assuming that divorce attorney Sherri Donovan has a new client and her name is Renee Graziano, whose ex-husband is soon to be released from prison.

This is not ratting. This is protecting. If you don’t do this you are ratting on yourself.

It looks like NY divorce attorney, Sherri Donovan, has a new client, mob wife Renee Graziano. Donovan recently appeared in an episode of the hit VH1 show Mob wives, where she counseled Graziano about domestic violence and legal protection from stalking and harassment, issues of particular interest to Mrs. Graziano, whose abusive ex-husband Junior is about to be released from prison.

As the scene from the VH1 reality drama unfolds, Renee Graziano is seated in Donovan’s office explaining that her ex has been calling and writing her from prison expressing his desire that the mob couple try to rekindle their relationship. Mrs. Graziano makes it perfectly clear that she wants nothing to do with Junior and that she fears that once he is out of prison, he will stalk and harass her.

The meeting between Donovan and her colorful client is not exactly your typical conference because while Graziano does indeed need legal advice, she is hesitant to follow Ms. Donovan’s unequivocal recommendations out of concern for breaking the mob family protocol on such matters. “My thing is I come from a specific family life style,” Renee explains to Ms. Donovan. “This, right here (their meeting) is gonna be wrong to a lot of people.” Graziano then cut right to the chase about her feelings on seeking legal counsel for her family problem. “I would never go to a lawyer. I would never go to cops or anything like that. To me personally, what I’m doing right now between you and I, I feel like this is a rat thing. I don’t like this.”

Donovan proves to be just as tough as the underworld wife sitting across from her replying, “This is not ratting. This is protecting.” She then makes the point more emphatically saying, “If you don’t do this you are ratting on yourself.”

While appearing on a popular reality TV show was exciting, Sherri Donovan was equally pleased with her opportunity to send a strong message to other women that may be facing a similar problem. Donovan made it clear in no uncertain terms that Graziano had good legal options available to her, and that she should strongly consider taking them; a message that, in Ms. Donovan’s opinion, many other women need to hear. “Being on Mob Wives was fun, but at the same time I wanted to tell women caught up in violent, abusive relationships that they have legal options available to get out of their situations.”

Sherri Donovan has been a divorce and family law attorney long enough to know that legal advice is just one of many vital services that couples need when the fabric of their families begins to unravel. To try to assist with those other needs, Ms. Donovan recently launched her Family Center, staffed by her Family Team of professionals. The Family Center offers comprehensive services for people going through divorce, custody and family transitions. The service areas covered by the Family Team include parent and divorce coaching, psychological services and assistance for issues related to special needs children, finance, real estate, business and health concerns.
