Prudential Financial’s policies and practices in support of women have once again garnered it a place on the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) “Top 50 Companies for Executive Women” list. This is the 14th year Prudential has been recognized by NAFE for advancing the careers of women.

“We are delighted to be chosen as a Top 50 Company and recognized for attracting and developing talented women,” states Caroline Feeney, president, Prudential Agency Distribution and the company’s 2013 Working Mother of the Year. “Prudential prioritizes leadership development for women and a supportive work environment where they can be successful both personally and professionally.

“NAFE applauds Prudential’s consistently strong numbers of women moving into the senior executive ranks. The company recognizes how critical women’s contribution is to the bottom line, and its superb work/life programs create an environment where women can thrive,” says Dr. Betty Spence, NAFE President.

Compared with last year’s data the percentage of women who are top earners at winning companies has grown to 28% in 2014 from 25%; the number of female corporate executives with profit and loss responsibility has increased from 19% to 22%; women in the Top Companies who are responsible for at least one billion dollars in revenue per year has increased from 23% to 26% and sixty percent of the Top Companies now offer sponsorship programs compared with 42% in 2013.

The 2014 NAFE Top Companies application includes more than 200 questions on female representation at all levels, especially the corporate officer and profit-and-loss ranks. The vetting process includes tracking access and usage of programs and policies that promote the advancement of women as well as the training and accountability of managers in relation to the number of women who advance.

The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), founded in 1972, serves 20,000 members nationwide with networking, tools and solutions to strengthen and grow their careers and businesses. Working Mother magazine publishes the annual NAFE Top 50 list. NAFE.com provides up-to-date information, community for women in business and access to member benefits.
