Mobile medical trailers not only help healthcare providers ease waiting times, but they also enable treatment to be delivered closer to people’s home.

EMS Healthcare has announced that it has extended its contract with the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, which allows vital chemotherapy treatment to be delivered at the heart of communities throughout the North West via mobile chemotherapy units.

It’s a pioneering community initiative that until recently enabled the treatment of around 15 patients a day, three days a week from a state-of-the-art mobile chemotherapy unit located at the Tesco Sealand Road site in Chester.

This mobile healthcare service has now been extended and operates five days a week, serving communities in Chester and Southport from Tesco sites, providing both convenience and free parking facilities for patients.

The mobile medical trailer houses six chemotherapy stations with preparation, reception and waiting areas. EMS Healthcare provides daily logistics support to ensure that the vehicle is maintained and located as required.

Mobile medical trailers not only help healthcare providers ease waiting times, but they also enable treatment to be delivered closer to people’s home. The benefits of mobile healthcare units are wide-ranging, from providing greater convenience and comfort to patients as well as enabling efficiencies in the provision of treatment.
