New Thick Stock expands application options on iGen4 Diamond Edition

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Xerox customers now have the option to create beautiful gift cards and folding cartons, expanding their services to fulfill their clients’ requirements. A new Thick Stock capability is available on the Xerox iGen4® Diamond Edition. High image quality can be achieved on many popular paperboards as well as other high caliper media – up to 24 points (610 microns).

Beyond new offerings such as the thicker stock, print service providers continue to expand their business with Xerox’s digital color and black and white technology, including:

• Iron Mountain Fulfillment Services, a division of Iron Mountain Incorporated and a marketing production and fulfillment provider, relies on several Xerox color and black and white devices for a faster time to market and cost savings for their clients.

“With the speed and quality of Xerox’s digital technology we can fulfill jobs that require personalization, frequent changes, smaller quantities and fast delivery,” said David Lowndes, director of product marketing, Iron Mountain Fulfillment Services.

To manage the volume and personalization requirements of their jobs, Iron Mountain uses three Xerox Nuvera® 288s, two Xerox Nuvera 144s, a Xerox Color 550 and two Xerox Color 1000s. The devices are located throughout its fulfillment sites in Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey and California.

Fueling the devices are finishing options from Bourg and Plockmatic. Additional efficiencies are gained with Xerox FreeFlow® Print Server and customized workflow solutions.

• 1800 Postcards is a full-service printer in New York City that specializes in postcards, business cards, brochures and banners. They recently installed an iGen® 150 Press that quickly resulted in substantial productivity gains.

“We are printing long-run jobs three-up on a sheet and large-sized books we could not have dreamed of printing with any other press,” said David Moyal, president and owner, 1800 Postcards. “The iGen 150 is the best move we’ve ever made in the digital arena.”

All of 1800 Postcards’ commercial printing and mailers, including variable data pieces, are now produced on the press. Several offset clients have moved print jobs to the iGen 150 due to its consistent image quality output.

1800 Postcards also uses the Xerox Color 1000 Press, with clear dry ink, to enhance production of high-quality photos. The press’ clear dry ink station amplifies full-color jobs and allows images and text to be highlighted for visual impact.

Availability
The Thick Stock capability for the iGen4® Diamond Edition is available in the U.S. and Canada; early next year in other geographies. A thick stock kit can be added to existing iGen4 presses with an upgrade to the Diamond Edition. For more information contact a Xerox sales representative.
