Sky launches magical Christmas campaign

WEBWIRE

Today sees the launch of Sky’s heart-warming Christmas campaign celebrating the magical moments of the festive season. The campaign starts with a series of TV ads, created by WCRS, showing a variety of people, couples and families coming together at this special time of year, demonstrating how Sky can help make Christmas a little more magical.

The cinematic 60” spot is directed by Ivan Bird and follows three different storylines, each depicting a special moment between loved ones. Supporting this are several 30” executions which show you a little bit more of each story. Whether watching on a mobile when waiting in an airport lounge, or settling into the sofa at home with the family, Sky’s flexible offering means its customers have the freedom to enjoy great movies, entertainment and sport when and how they wish.

The TV campaign will be launched via social media today on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Television viewers can see the full 60” advert in a spot in The X Factor commercial break on Saturday night (9th November).

Outdoor posters will help add to the excitement and build up to the festive season by showcasing a series of well-known images from blockbuster movies available on Sky Movies this Christmas. The posters, with a ‘Christmas is coming’ headline created by venturethree, will appear on 48 sheets, digital 6 sheets and sparkly bus t-sides over November and December.

At the same time, Sky will be running a competition from 15th November throughout December asking the nation to tell us what their favourite Christmas moment is using #SkyXmasMagic. The lucky winners will have their chosen festive moments made even more magical by Sky through the chance to win amazing personalised prizes.

In addition, Sky will also be grouping all competition entries into one major draw where a final lucky winner can take home Sky’s grand Christmas Day prize - a scrumptious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, presents galore and the ultimate Sky entertainment package.

Liz Darran, Director of Brand and Creative, said: “Christmas is a really special time of year when people come together to spend time with those close to them. Our campaign celebrates those moments and demonstrates how Sky can help Christmas feel that little bit more magical.”
