Led by President, Don Sams, Sams & Associates was founded in 1990 and originated in a borrowed conference room of Don’s accountant in Emeryville. With corporate headquarters in Emeryville before moving to Sacramento Sams & Associates moved the Bay Area office from Emeryville to Walnut Creek in the late 90’s, eventually moving that office again to Concord.  Over the years Sams & Associates has opened or acquired physical offices in Redding, Chico, Reno, Napa, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, San Ramon, Modesto, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Salinas, Monterey, Modesto, Fresno, Simi Valley, Pasadena, Anaheim, San Bernardino, Las Vegas, Oceanside, and San Diego.
In 1996, Sams & Associates entered business in Nevada and are separately incorporated and licensed there as Independent Adjusters.  In 2010 they expanded into Washington and Oregon, seeking to increase presence in more western states over the coming years and have since entered into Arizona and Colorado servicing the metropolitan and surrounding areas.
