St. Louis Homes “Marked“ for Energy Savings by Newly Launched Greenmark Home Performance

St. Louis, MO – Green-friendly homeowners may improve indoor comfort, air quality and home durability, through a newly opened St. Louis business. Greenmark Home Performance began offering home performance assessments in the St. Louis area last week through its partnership with ENERGY STAR. Greenmark specializes in taking a scientific whole-house-approach providing energy retrofit services.

“Green does not have to be expensive. We make the process simple and affordable,” said Mark Inman, founder of Greenmark Home Performance.

Home performance assessments provide research-based evidence of the internal environmental conditions of the home. Following an assessment, Greenmark advises energy retrofits, such as insulation, air sealing, proper ventilation, heating and cooling units, thermal windows and LED lighting

Inman believes that a poor performing home, contributes to a number of respiratory ailments, discomfort and escalated energy usage. When these areas are not addressed homeowners may experience fatigue, sinus infections, allergies, headaches, temperature fluctuation, foul odors and increased presence of pests, said Inman.

“According to the Department of Energy, air quality inside the home could be five to ten times worse than the outdoor air quality, so we make every effort to make sure the home is properly ventilated,” said Inman.

Greenmark offers two assessments. The clipboard audit provides the home owner with digital image capture of areas of concern and includes a visual inspection of the interior and exterior. This data is provided to the homeowner through a computer generated report.

The comprehensive audit includes computer readouts of diagnostic data. This information is produced by diagnostic equipment. These tests measure air flow, duct leakage, water management, zone pressure, air quality/leakage, carbon monoxide and energy usage.
