DHL launches day definite groupage service across Europe to speed up business expansion

Bonn - DHL Freight has introduced its new high-quality Eurapid service offering day-definite lead times and priority treatment for less-than-truckload shipments (LTL).The service also entails full end-to-end visibility and simple rate cards. Eurapid is available effective today and provides centrally steered direct connections between Europe’s major economic centers. The new service is available for pan-European LTL shipments up to 2.5 tons.

“Our customers want higher frequencies, proactive customer service and extremely reliable delivery execution for advanced supply chain concepts. Short product life cycles, for example in the Technology or Fashion and Apparel business, further add to this growing demand. For this reason, DHL has now launched Eurapid, providing customers with a day-definite commitment and easy to use solution,” said Amadou Diallo, CEO DHL Freight.

DHL Eurapid enables customers to connect their business with key markets across Europe. The new service is already available in 14 countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK It covers the highest GDP areas in Europe and 74% of the region’s export/import trade volumes. Additional areas will be connected to the network in the upcoming months.

Dedicated customer service team

Eurapid shipments are treated with priority, resulting in highly competitive lead times for customers (e.g. from Frankfurt/M (Germany) to Barcelona (Spain) in 24 hours). Shipments can easily be tracked via the DHL Activetracing smartphone app and are shipped according to fixed timetables. Moreover, DHL has also a dedicated customer service team for Eurapid, which handles bookings, customer inquiries and rate requests. The service team constantly monitors on-time delivery and proactively informs customers to ensure the highest level of shipment transparency. Same-day pick-up for shipments booked before 12pm, same-day delivery information and standard end-to-end lead time reports are included in this service.

Besides regular general cargo, DHL Eurapid also allows the transportation of dangerous goods, which are handled by DHL in full adherence to regulations. Additionally, a variety of value added services such as cargo insurance, customs clearance and customized reports can be booked if needed.
