Dow Corning to launch new high-performance silicone technologies at ACS Rubber Show

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN, USA - Dow Corning Corporation, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, will introduce advanced new silicone technologies at the ACS Rubber Show, Oct. 8 to 10 in Cleveland, Ohio, in booth 3240. These materials include Silastic® FL 60-9201 and Silastic FL 70-9201 fully fluorinated liquid silicone elastomers, and Silastic® HCM 60-1225-GRAY silicone rubber. The new high-performance materials are developed to address the needs of fabricators and OEMs, underscoring Dow Corning’s commitment to its customers worldwide.

Silastic FL 60-9201 and Silastic FL 70-9201 are fully fluorinated two-part liquid silicone elastomers (F-LSR) developed for static and dynamic sealing applications. These advanced materials combine the fuel and oil resistance of fluorosilicone rubber (FSR) elastomers with the processing benefits of LSR.

Silastic HCM 60-1225-GRAY silicone rubber is a high-consistency rubber that provides superior fatigue resistance in extreme heat and cold in applications, ranging from CVJ boots, exhaust hangers, engine mounts and steering system boots to component mounts for Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) control. Like other Dow Corning liquid silicone rubber (LSR) products, the new material also offers excellent processability and high-performance reliability.

XIAMETER® brand from Dow Corning will feature XIAMETER® RBL-9200 Series LSRs(PDF). Visitors to the booth will learn how their low viscosity and enhanced rheology, pot life and cure speed can help users reduce cycle times and fill intricate mold cavities more quickly and completely at lower pressures. In addition, Maplan, located in booth 1824, will showcase XIAMETER RBL-9200 Series LSRs in action on its MHF200L/200EDITION molding machine.

Commercial representatives and technical experts from R.D. Abbott, a specialized distributor for Dow Corning silicone rubbers in the US, will be available to advise visitors in identifying the best solutions for their specific needs, including cost efficiencies in the manufacturing process and the proven performance of silicones in end-use applications.
