Two incredible hatchbacks – the Ford Focus Vs the Honda Civic

The Ford Focus has been designed around the brand’s defining Kinetic Design, with its low profile, distinguished bonnet design and sleek, wraparound rear lights designed to give the car a confident, elegant and purposeful look. Ford designers have spent years crafting and perfecting the model’s shape, so that the new Focus offers the very best aerodynamic performance in its class. Both the Focus and the Civic offer excellent performance. Ford has fitted the Focus with its new EcoBoost engine, designed to cut running costs and emissions without compromising on power. There’s also a 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine which offers superb power whilst achieving 83.1mpg. Honda also offers a good range of engines on the Civic, with a choice of four i-VTEC and i-DTEC petrol and diesel engines, offering outstanding fuel economy of between 52.3mpg and 78.5mpg at the upper end. Focus or Civic? It’s not an easy choice to make, but you can’t fault Ford for its innovative commitment to keeping those running costs down.

Ford was recently lauded by EuroNCAP judges, and has been awarded an Advanced Award for its commitment to developing new safety technologies, including Active City Stop, Lane Keeping Aid, Driver Alert and Forward Alert. The Civic also has a superb range of safety technologies built in as standard, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), designed to take preventative action in the event of a near-collision.
