Munich (DE). The final test races have been successfully completed and all the theory modules passed with flying colours: the drivers in the 2013 Formula BMW Talent Cup are ready for the highlight of their season, the “Grand Final”, which forms part of the DTM weekend in Oschersleben (DE) from 13th to 15th September. The etropolis Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben will host three races, with BMW financing the overall winner for a season in a higher-level single-seater racing series in 2014.

A final four-day course at the Hungaroring (HU) allowed BMW’s international team of instructors to put the finishing touches to the twelve participants from seven different countries, as they prepare for the grand finale in Oschersleben. The course focussed on revising all the content, which had been covered comprehensively since the start of the programme earlier in the year. Technical know-how, knowledge of the rules and race strategies were run through one last time, the mental and fitness training was spruced up, and the drivers brushed up on the final modules of the media coaching, which formed an integral part of their training.

The highlight of the final on-track event before the “Grand Final”: Two test races at the 4.381-kilometre Hungaroring. Kaan Önder (TK) and Nico Menzel (DE) emerged triumphant. Dirk Adorf, BMW works driver and head instructor: “We have a thrilling finale in store. The final event showed once again just how evenly balanced the field is. Over the course of the year, all the participants have made remarkable progress in their personal development – both on and off the track. That once again shows how effective the comprehensive training concept of the Formula BMW Talent Cup is. I am already looking forward to an exciting finale in Oschersleben, and wish all the drivers every success.”
