For Panasonic, supporting sports initiatives is one of its priorities, and has been an Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for more than 25 years, and the signing of this partnership is an example of the company’s commitment.

From July 6 - 17, the 27th Summer Universiade will be held in Kazan City, one of the largest economic, scientific and cultural centers in Russia. Over this period, approximately 13,500 athletes from 170 countries will take part and give their all in one of the biggest sports events for students in the world.

As the partner to the Summer Universiade in the “Video display devices and video conferencing equipment” field, Panasonic will provide a variety of AV products and equipment to the event.

In the sports facilities at the venue in Kazan, more than 1,000 LED and Plasma screens will be installed, and two 4m2 and 9m2 video walls assembled from the company’s seamless professional displays, will be set up in the Main International Center (MIC) to monitor the situation at the venues during the Unversiade.

The company will also supply its HD video communications systems to the venue, linking the 60 main sites of the Universiade together with the MIC, enabling the organizers and participants to instantly contact all the sports venues, hold HD video conferences and live broadcasts. This unique technical innovation will also be used in the Olympic facilities in Sochi.

In addition, video surveillance systems have also been installed in the Central Stadium, the Rowing Center and other sports facilities in Kazan. These will be used to ensure the safety of both the participants and guests at the games.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Suzuki, CEO of Panasonic Russia said, “Panasonic Russia is committed to contributing to Russian society, not only providing cutting-edge products but also supporting important projects and events. Russia is hosting numerous international events in coming years like the Sochi 2014 games, the World Soccer Championship and the World Universiade Summer Games. We are very much proud to support the Sochi games and the Universiade. I do believe that our vast technical experience and products will help to make these games even more spectacular and exciting.”
