FIFA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ are pleased to announce ARAMARK, a global leader in providing professional services, and Convivas Brasil, a company with a diverse range of services for stadium operations and event production, have been selected as the Food and Beverage Concessionaire for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. The agreement follows a public tender process which involved a total of 17 food service providers, the majority of which are from Brazil.

According to the agreement, ARAMARK, together with its partner Convivas Brasil, will manage concessions and workforce catering at the six FIFA Confederations Cup stadia and the 12 FIFA World Cup™ stadia, creating a total of approximately 6000 jobs for the FIFA Confederations Cup which will rise to over 10,000 in 2014.

ARAMARK’s experience providing similar services for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ amongst other premier sporting events, such as the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics, will be vital in ensuring the successful delivery of this highly complex food and beverage programme.

“The matchday experience of fans at the FIFA Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup is of utmost importance to FIFA and the LOC,” said FIFA’s Marketing Director Thierry Weil. “Having such experienced partners working with us will ensure that fans attending the stadia have a high quality choice of food and drink. But equally important is the large number of jobs which are being created by ARAMARK and Convivas in Brazil. The food and beverage operation gives us the opportunity to employ and train thousands of Brazilian workers with the aim of leaving a positive legacy in the food services industry in the Host Nation"

“The FIFA World Cup is one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events and we are honoured to be awarded the opportunity to manage the food and beverage services for it and this summer’s FIFA Confederations Cup,” said Marc Bruno, President of ARAMARK Sports and Entertainment. “We look forward to utilizing our global culinary insights and expertise and working with FIFA and our partner, Convivas, to develop a world-class menu that enhances the experience for football fans attending the matches"

Pedro Lima, head of Convivas Brasil said: ”We are delighted with the opportunity of working with ARAMARK and FIFA on this project, as significantly, it will set high standards for the industry and improve fans’ perception of the level of services offered in Brazilian stadia.”

The menu will showcase a variety of international options and distinctive Brazilian tastes and flavours, giving visitors from all over the world the opportunity to experience local and regional cuisine, such as Acarajé in Salvador, Feijão Tropeiro in Belo Horizonte and Bolo de Rolo in Recife. In addition to hiring and training a local workforce, ARAMARK and Convivas are committed to working with local Brazilian service providers.

The decision to choose one concessionaire to operate the programme nationwide was taken to ensure consistency in the quality, product offered and prices across all venues.
