The Spanish jewellery and accessories brand opens in Palm Desert (California). It is the first of ten new US shops scheduled for 2013.

Uno de 50 chose Miami to kick off its global expansion back in 2008. Today, the US is still one of its strategic markets.

Of 15 openings the brand has planned for 2013, ten will be in US locations. In 2011 and 2012, shops opened at Newport Beach (California), Santa Monica (Los Angeles), Tampa (Florida) and SoHo in New York. Now the ‘padlock brand’ has just opened its latest shop at the El Paseo Shopping Center in Palm Desert, California. This year, it will also be making its debut in cities like Long Island, New Jersey, San Juan de Puerto Rico, Boston, Denver and Chicago. In May, it will open its first three shop-in-shops at the West Coast, North and Florida branches of Bloomingdales.

Uno de 50 is also in talks to make its debut, on a franchise basis, in new Latin American markets like Peru and Brazil. It is also negotiating the opening of its first shop in Russia.

In 2012, company turnover rose to €20 mill. and is set to grow 60% in 2013, with the global market accounting for 53% of that figure. Today, Uno de 50 has 26 shops and 25 shop-in-shops in El Corte Inglés in Spain. Abroad, it has 17 shops of its own in the USA and Europe, and franchise stores in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Malta and Kuwait.
