The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on March 29, 2013 that it has issued updates to pollution limits under the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS).

The EPA’s new standards only affect new coal and oil fired power plants and do not affect the final emission limits or other requirements for existing power plants.
