Essex Auto Group helps the “Doing it for Heroes” team

Essex Auto Group is proud to be supporting Andy (“Gibbo”) Gibbs and his “Doing it for Heroes” team once again, having helped them to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity many times in the past.
 
The team includes “Gibbo” and Tyrone (“Ty”) Stock, and they will walk all the way from Twickenham to Cardiff – a total of 172 miles – over an eight-day period. The team will be carrying the match ball for the Six Nations rugby match between Wales and England, and they should arrive in time to present it to the players before kick-off on March 16. They will be supported by James (“JC”) Cameron-Wood.
 
Both “Gibbo” and “Ty” are Royal Navy sailors, and “JC” is a Royal Navy veteran, with 27 years’ service. The charity is important to each team member, and they aim to raise over £200,000, having already exceeded £199,000.
 
Essex Auto Group helped “Gibbo” and another “Doing it for Heroes” team to raise around £36,000 on a similar walk last year, by providing the Ford Galaxy that “JC” drove to support the team.
 
Keen to offer as much support as possible, Matt Brown, group marketing director, said: “We continually go the extra mile to help support H4H fundraising activities because we are driven by a debt of gratitude that we owe all the British Service men and women who selflessly protect us from the challenges thrown down by today’s world. We think it’s important, therefore, that we demonstrate our thanks by supporting those whose lives are compromised or affected by this selfless act.”
 
We are confident that the “Doing it for Heroes” team will meet their target, and we are looking forward to sponsoring them in the future.
