Lectrus South Dakota Operation Attains City of Los Angeles Fabricator Certification

Lectrus Corporation, the leading manufacturer of electrically-integrated custom metal electrical enclosures, was recently notified by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Building and Safety, that its South Dakota Operation has received a Certificate of Approval as a Type 1 Fabricator of Light Weight Steel, High Strength Steel, and Specialty Equipment Enclosures. This plant joins both the Lectrus Chattanooga and Houston Operations as achieving this distinguished certification.

Section 96.204 (g) of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (Fabricator Approvals) establishes the procedures for approval, regulation, inspection and investigation of Type I Fabricators. The process to attain approval starts with an extensive application. Manufacturers provide detailed plant, equipment, material and employee information as well as operations and quality control procedures. After review by the City of Los Angeles, a plant inspection is conducted where all processes are reviewed and testing conducted. Quality Control Technician and Inspector evaluations of specific employees are also performed. Once all processes and employees have been evaluated and determined as meeting the Department of Building and Safety’s requirements, certificates are issued to the fabricator.
