Pioneer provides Blanco with the world’s first cyclocomputer with pedalling monitor function

Pioneer is delighted to announce that it has signed a sponsorship contract with Blanco Pro Cycling Team. As one of the 19 professional teams recognised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Blanco Pro Cycling Team competes on the UCI World tour, which brings together the world’s greatest bicycle road races. Pioneer will provide Blanco Pro Cycling Team with the world’s first cyclocomputer incorporating a pedalling monitor function that enables real-time analysis separately for the left and right pedals while cycling.

Continuously seeking new ways to expand and strengthen its customer base by applying its knowledge and experience to new markets, Pioneer entered into the cycling business in 2012 with the introduction of a high-performing cyclocomputer. By signing this sponsorship contract, Pioneer will support the Blanco Pro Cycling Team pros to refine their biking technique and capacity by providing its revolutionary equipment. Pioneer will also stay committed to full-scale entry into bicycle-related businesses.

Speaking about the new partnership Pioneer’s Business Development Manager Cycling Business Wim Van Den Eeckhaut said, “We are looking forward to working closely with Blanco Pro Cycling Team’s coaches and riders to provide detailed analysis of their training and racing sessions in order to help the team improve their pedalling power and efficiency.”

Mathieu Heijboer, trainer at Blanco Pro Cycling Team said: “This new system gives us the possibility to collect ’normal’ parameters, like speed, heart rate and cadence in combination with the unique left and right pedal force data during training sessions and races. In combination with a GPS, this is the most complete and innovative power measurement system we’ve ever worked with.”
About Pioneer’s cyclocomputer and pedalling monitor sensor

Pioneer’s high-performance cyclocomputer is designed for use by athletes aiming to improve their cycling skills. Uploading data onto a dedicated web service facilitates detailed analyses of cycling data with the use of maps and graphs. In combination with the wireless, water resistant pedalling monitor sensor the cyclist can visualise left and right pedalling force separately, and analyse his pedalling efficiency, providing feedback for optimal performance.
