Moscow, Russia– MasterCard launched its Make Purchases and Give Hope campaign in Russia to support its first Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) initiative in the region. The project, in partnership with SU2C’s Russian program Together Against Cancer is aimed at funding innovative research in oncology carried out in Russia and globally. As a result of the campaign, at least 30 million rubles ($1MM USD) will be donated by MasterCard to support research aimed at developing new methods of cancer treatment.

MasterCard will donate 10 kopecks (3 cents) from every payment made between January 1 and March 31, 2013 with MasterCard® and Maestro® cards issued by Russian banks. It is the first charity program of such scale supported by MasterCard in Russia.
