WEBWIRE

The regional chapter of the Forest Products Society (FPS), in conjunction with FPS International, is organizing a symposium to educate attendees of the benefits of wood fenestration as well as instruction in optimal performance of these products.

The North American Wood Window and Door Symposium will be held April 18-19 at the Radisson Hotel in Roseville, Minn. Fenestration industry professionals, architects, contractors, designers, researchers, and policy makers who influence construction materials selection are encouraged to register.

Wood is a locally available resource that should be considered a viable material that appeals esthetically, environmentally, and economically. This conference will highlight new wood technologies and applications from global leaders in fenestration.

“We are anticipating high level presentations and discussion on life cycle analysis and environmental product declarations,” said Patrick Donahue, program director at the Natural Resources Research Institute, one of the top sponsors of this event. “There are exciting new designs and market opportunities to explore and wood should be a major player in this arena.”

Participants can register for this event at www.forestprod.org, under the “Events” tab. For more information contact Megan Cuccia, megan@forestprod.org , 608-231-1361 ext. 216 or Patrick Donahue, pdonahue@d.umn.edu , 218-390-4780.
