Big Wins for Karma Sauce Company Products at Zestfest 2013

Upstate New York firm brings home eleven awards at national exhibition

(Pittsford, NY) February 6, 2013 – Hot on the heals of a strong performance in New Mexico for The Scovie Awards, the Upstate New York-based The Karma Sauce Company LLC has returned from Texas with a ten-gallon hat brimming with praise for its growing line of condiments and spice blends. At ZestFest 2013 Karma Sauce products were recognized 11 times in ten competitive categories within the Fiery Food Challenge; ZestFest is a national food products exhibition that celebrates spicy fare from around the country.

The Karma Sauce Company won three first place Golden Chile Awards (“The Oscars” of spicy food) at the event. Cold Process Mustard™ led the charge in Condiments: Mustard, setting up a two-year string of wins in this category for The Karma Sauce Company. New products Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce and Jerk My Around spice rub won in the Hot Sauce and Jerk Seasoning categories, respectively.

Rounding out the consumer-ready Hot Sauce contest, Smokey Karma Sauce® placed 2nd and 3rd in the “Chipotle” and “Mild” categories, respectively, while Curry Karma Sauce® landed 3rd in both “Medium” and “Asian” categories. Bad Karma Sauce® took third place in the hotly contested “Hot” category, behind first place sibling Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce, while extra hot Ghost Island Hot Sauce scored a 3rd place finish in the “Caribbean Style“ category.

Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce continued on a mean streak scoring 2nd in the “Habanero” category and a coveted Peoples Choice Award for Hot Sauce.
