Vegan YouTube Channel Video Surprises Carnivores at Tailgate in Time for Super Bowl

Vegan YouTube Channel Still Current Studios (SC Studios) releases Vegan Tailgate video starring The Edgy Veg on location at the Battle of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia Eagles v. Pittsburgh Steelers).The video “Vegan vs. Tailgater” can be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yvbG9qPd5g.

The tailgate episode is the first episode that SC Studios produced that was outside of a show-and-tell recipe context, and outside of the studio environment.  According to Andrew Gareth, Production Manager for Still Current Studios. 

“This was our first time spontaneously bringing vegan cuisine to a traditionally carnivorous environment and capturing impromptu reactions by unsuspecting tailgaters.  It was a great success”  

The Edgy Veg show targets new vegans and people becoming vegan or vegetarian.  Each episode on the Still Current YouTube Channel transforms popular non-vegan dishes into easy vegan recipes that the viewer can make at home.  Examples include Vegan Mac & Cheese, Vegan Peanut Butter Cookies, Vegan Stuffing, Vegan Eggnog, Vegan Gravy and a tutorial on how to make Seitan “Wheat Meat” from scratch.

The star of the Edgy Veg, Candice Hutchings was asked to describe why transforming non-vegan dishes into their vegan counterparts was important to her:  “Just because someone decides to give up animal products and by-products doesn’t mean that they want to give up the tastes that they love.  It’s easier to stay vegan if you can preserve food familiarity and comfort.  It’s also important to me that the world realizes that vegans don’t just have to eat salad… eggplant bacon anyone?”
