In an effort to help fight off the flu this season, Deal Text, a mobile marketing company near Duluth, MN is offering its mobile pager system to hospitals and doctors who use hand held pagers.

Russell Checchin, owner of Deal Text said: "My wife got a virus in her brain 5 years ago and there is not much any doctor can do for her, but to make her comfortable. During this flu season she has PT and OT appointments at a local hospital that does not use pagers for appointments. But she recently had her normal appointments of PT and OT and then we were supposed to go to a different hospital to do a routine visit with her regular doctor, this hospital does use pagers for appointments, and because of this we decided to cancel our appointment, after all how many people had that pager in their hands that day?”

Deal Text has a pager system that uses the patients cell phone to let them know their appointment is ready by sending a message via text or voice, Checchin said: "Using our pager system keeps the virus from spreading through the use of the patients own cell phone compared to using hand held pagers which can transfer the virus.”

Deal Text is offering free set up of the mobile paging system for Doctors and Hospitals to help fight the flu.
