WEBWIRE

Canberra, ACT, Australia (January 14, 2013) – Internet filtering and Web security vendor ContentKeeper Technologies commented today on the latest Threat Alert issued by the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), concerning a new bypass vulnerability in Java 7.  The DHS Office of Cybersecurity and Communications is advising Web users to disable Java, in response to the threat, until Oracle can patch the vulnerability.

“ContentKeeper customers are well placed to secure their networks against this latest Java 7 bypass vulnerability,” commented ContentKeeper CEO, David Wigley.

“Customers need only implement a simple file blocking policy to disable Java code from executing on any browser or device. This is a quick, simple and effective means of disabling Java for organizations concerned about the vulnerability period for this latest security threat,” continued Mr. Wigley.

“Looking to the future with our new Advanced Threat Protection Suite, vulnerability periods will become a thing of the past. Our advanced threat analysis technology automatically tests Javascript and unknown files to detect malicious exploits such as this latest one for Java 7. ContentKeeper customers will have greater peace of mind against even new, previously unknown exploits and will not have to wait for Vendors to patch vulnerabilities as a security precaution,” explained Mr. Wigley.

The ContentKeeper Advanced Threat Protection Suite is a multifaceted anti-malware and malicious Web threat security system. It combines three advanced targeted malware identification technologies to help provide a total barrier against today’s and tomorrow’s Web security threats.
