New York, NY. – Plyfe, a digital amplification platform that rewards consumers for actions that create engagement, loyalty and virality across web, social media, and mobile, today announced that Jared Sorensen has been hired as Vice President of Gaming. Sorensen has extensive experience in writing and design and has worked for several interactive media companies like Mattel Interactive, Evite.com and LucasArts Entertainment. In his new role, Sorensen will focus on further developing the Plyfe platform, as well as delivering enhancements to the company’s brand partner games and programs.

Plyfe provides marketers with a unique engagement platform whereby users are rewarded for participating in brand sponsored digital or social activities. Successful completion of challenges increases the likelihood to win seriously cool prizes including a VIP NASCAR experience, meet-and-greets with celebrities like Lady Gaga, back-stage concert passes to Stevie Wonder, tickets to MTV’s Video Music Awards and much more.

“At its core, Plyfe is focused on bringing the best elements of gaming to our platform and we’re excited to inject an amazing talent like Sorensen into the management team at Plyfe. We’ve found through testing that real game mechanics, those that go beyond the click dramatically increase the engagement and sticky factor, so we feel it’s imperative to bring on veterans who understand player motivations and how unique game design can translate into an improved user experience,” said Mateen Aini, CEO of Plyfe.

Prior to Plyfe, Sorensen co-founded Sorensen/Crane, where he was a game designer and brand consultant on high profile projects such as The Jim Henson Company’s Dark Crystal RPG, as well as Arkadium’s Facebook game Vampire Diaries. Specializing in social networking and trans-media games, Sorensen has worked as both a test engineer and designer for a wide range of other notable gaming companies, including Atari, Tilted Mill Entertainment, Turbine, Inc., Hidden City Entertainment and Propaganda Studios. Sorensen has also taught game design at NYC public schools, and has given lectures on game design in the United States, England and Denmark.

“Plyfe has already proven their ability to champion the next evolution of digital social media with a dynamic collection of games and activities that drive user interaction. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with the incredible team of entrepreneurs to further develop our platform and create exciting game content for all of Plyfe’s brand partners,” Sorensen said.

Plyfe’s clients currently include the U.N. Foundation, DermStore, HaulerDeals, Bluum, The Tie Society, with several more partnerships announcements set for 2013. With Sorensen’s hire, Plyfe continues its commitment to making consumer digital activities more social, rewarding, and fun.
