Announcing Euclid Zero, the First Zero-Hardware Solution for Real-World Shopper Analytics

Euclid dramatically reduces cost and hassle of measuring shopper behavior; now detects more than three billion events per day

WEBWIRE

PALO ALTO, Calif.Jan. 4, 2013 – Today Euclid, the leading retail analytics company, announces the launch of Euclid Zero, the first zero-hardware solution for real-world shopper analytics. With a single click, Euclid Zero gives retailers, malls and other venues the ability to measure in-store behavior using their existing wireless infrastructure from leading enterprise Wi-Fi providers Aerohive Networks, Aruba Networks, Fortinet and Xirrus. Euclid is also announcing that the company now analyzes three billion events per day on average.

Euclid Zero requires no dedicated sensors, costly in-store installation or complicated configuration. IT managers simply turn on the Euclid feature in their Wi-Fi management console. Once enabled, retailers can access actionable insights for improving shopper traffic, engagement, loyalty and revenue, all through an easy-to-use web-based dashboard. Retailers can use metrics like Engagement Rate, Visit Duration and Visit Frequency to optimize the performance of their marketing, merchandising and operations.

Unlike other services on the market, Euclid Zero measures the activity of all shoppers carrying a Wi-Fi enabled mobile device, without requiring them to connect to the in-store network or run a mobile app. To ensure shopper privacy, Euclid provides only aggregated, anonymous insights to its clients and provides an easy opt-out for anyone wishing to do so.

Dubbed “Google Analytics for the physical world,” Euclid launched in November 2011 with one goal: to help brick and mortar retailers use powerful analytics to compete more effectively with online competition. The company currently serves more than 30 leading apparel chains, quick-service restaurants, shopping malls and department stores. Since launching, Euclid has gone from detecting less than a million events per day to more than three billion on average.

“Combining Aruba’s best-in-class cloud management and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi solutions with Euclid Zero helps retailers take the guesswork out of gathering same-store, cross-store, and cross-channel customer metrics,” Mike Tennefoss, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Aruba Networks. ”These metrics help retailers enhance the shopping experience through tailored marketing programs and services for their customer base. Euclid Zero can be easily retrofitted to Aruba retail deployments - from small sites with a single Aruba Instant access point all the way to large multi-national chains with thousands of access points – making the most of existing capital investments.”

“Aerohive’s unique commitment to the cloud and true controller-less architecture gives retailers the ability to manage and report Wi-Fi usage securely from anywhere,” said Bill Hoppin, VP of Business Development, Aerohive Networks. “With the combined Aerohive and Euclid solution, retailers can now roll out enterprise-class Wi-Fi to multiple large or small locations in days versus months at typically 50 percent less cost, and use Euclid to finally look beyond traffic to understand what’s truly engaging their customers.”

"Our wireless solutions for distributed enterprise, including retail and hospitality, are designed to address wireless PCI compliance needs and secure networks against multifaceted threats posed by the influx of mobile devices and applications,” said Koroush Saraf, senior director of product management for Fortinet. “We’re excited to be working with retail customers who are deploying Euclid Zero in their secure wireless networks as a source of actionable shopper analytics.”

“Convention centers, malls, and other large public venues are investing in connecting visitors and their tablets and smartphones with a reliable, high-performance wireless network,” said Steven Wastie, Chief Marketing Officer at Xirrus. ”With Euclid Zero, retailers and venue operators can deliver a fast and compelling connection to their customers and also provide valuable visitor analytics in a single package, eliminating the need for additional hardware to be deployed.”

“Euclid Zero makes it dramatically easier to get the big picture about what’s happening in your stores,” said Will Smith, Euclid CEO. “We’re excited to give retailers a much faster and more convenient way to experience our breakthrough shopper analytics.”

Euclid Zero will be demoed live January 14 and 15 at the NRF BIG Show in New York City. Visit Euclid at Booth #2185 and our partners Aerohive (#2477), Aruba (#2052), and Fortinet (#C414).
