Tayntons Solicitors add specialist education solicitor Robert Love to the team

Specialist solicitor in special needs education Robert Love has been appointed by Tayntons Solicitors as part of a move to expand their education law services to include help for parents struggling to secure the right education for their child.

Robert’s own son has special educational needs, and he is a nationally recognised legal expert who will bring personal experienced and a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of special needs education to all cases he deals with.

Commenting on the new post partner at Tayntons Chris Price said: “Robert is especially good at what he does as he has experience with a son of his own who required special needs. It was this which sparked his interest in the first place. This has become a vocation which has led him to become one of the most nationally renowned practitioners in this area of the law. That personal experience gives him a tremendous empathy with the parents which other solicitors don’t have, providing great client care.”
 
Tayntons Solicitors will offer specialist help and guidance to parents of children of all ages, and services offered include assistance with applying for a statutory assessment from a local authority. These assessments are used to highlight any specific areas of extra care a child might need, and it is essential that they are carried out when a child is still at a young age.
 
Partner Chris Price further commented that by appointing Robert, Tayntons Solicitors is taking itself into a “niche specialist area”. He also highlighted the financial implications of providing special needs education to children, and noted that local authority funding is “very much a finite pot which most authorities are trying to cut back”.
 
“Robert’s role will be to act for the parents, liaising with experts such as speech therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists in order to secure funding from the local authority,” he explained.
