Two New Recruits Join Forces on Brunel Road

There are two new team members at Westover Nissan in Brunel Road – Jonathan Forshaw and Graham Boyes. Between them, the hot-shot pair sold 14 cars in their first fortnight.
 
“Both Jonathan and Graham have got off to a cracking start and made some early sales - not bad going considering they only had 12 months of motor trade experience between them when they arrived,” says Mike Boyd, Westover director. “We prioritise personality over previous sales experience when we look for showroom staff: it’s critical to have lively and engaging people front of house and we can teach the sales skills if necessary. It doesn’t look like this pair need more than a guiding hand though, with them both making their first sales within two days of joining us.”
 
Jonathan – a self-confessed ‘petrol-head’ - joins Westover Nissan from Hyundai in Southampton, where he worked for a year. Before that he was a pricing analyst for DIY chain, B&Q.
 
Graham graduated a year ago and worked as team leader at Waitrose in Salisbury while he was looking for a permanent role. With a life-long love of cars, he targeted 20 local dealerships in his hunt for a job. Having had interviews at eight, he settled upon Westover Nissan.
 
“It’s even better than I expected and it’s great to have Jonathan here too,” says Graham. “We’re both new and we’re both young, so we’re learning things together and enjoying some good banter along the way. This is an extremely professional working environment where customer service is key, so my Waitrose training is proving very handy and I’m really enjoying the interaction with both customers and colleagues.
 
“Coming to the business with no previous experience, I was surprised to sell a Juke on my first day - it gave me an unexpected and overwhelming buzz!”
 
Both new starters were attracted to Westover by the career opportunities the Group – which now employs around 550 local people – has to offer.
 
“I had a job before, but I feel I’ve got a career now and I like to think I will be able to stay with Westover for the long term,” confirms Jonathan.
