Allstate, Capital One, and Office Depot Make Debut on Board and Councils

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) is pleased to announce new leadership for the NGLCC’s Board of Directors, Corporate Advisory Council, and Procurement Council, governance forums which aim to inform, educate, and support growth for NGLCC’s programs and services around the world.

Cheryl Harris, Senior Vice President of Sourcing and Procurement Solutions at Allstate Insurance, has been elected to the NGLCC’s Board of Directors. As the 2012 Outstanding Corporate Leader of the Year, Harris has been an allied brand ambassador for the NGLCC and a constant source of thought leadership on diversity and inclusion best practices.

Trung Tieu, Co-Chair PepsiCo LGBTA Steering Committee, will continue to chair the NGLCC Corporate Advisory Council, with Kimberlee Sours, Supplier Diversity Manager at Capital One now serving as vice chair. The Corporate Advisory Council is an advisory body comprised of representatives from the corporate partners of the NGLCC and functions as a forum for the exchange of information, current industry trends, advocacy issues, market research, and synergies between corporate partners in the LGBT space.

Carol Attak, Accenture Supplier Diversity Program Manager, will chair the NGLCC Procurement Council, with newly elected Frantz Tiffeau, Jr., Senior Manager of Supply Chain Diversity for Office Depot serving as vice chair. The Procurement Council is an advisory body comprised of supplier diversity leaders and purchasing professionals from the NGLCC’s extensive network of corporate partners, in addition to several LGBT suppliers.

“It is always exciting to see commitment from corporations to LGBT supplier diversity and inclusion, but we are thrilled to have such dedicated supplier diversity professionals stepping up to guide these leadership teams this year,” said Justin Nelson, NGLCC Co-Founder and President. “Our supplier base has increased 68 percent in just the last year, and our growing number of certified LGBT business owners will continue to benefit from the support and guidance of an engaged Board and advisory councils.”
