UV Disinfection Technologies on Display at the 2012 IDWeek

UVDI, a leading provider of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection and molecular filtration technologies, will be exhibiting at the 2012 IDWeek Conference.  IDWeek is a forum for health professionals involved with infectious diseases of varied backgrounds to collaborate, cooperate, and learn from each other’s expertise. The event will be taking place from October 17th through the 21st at the San Diego Convention Center.
 
IDWeek is presented by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS). IDWeek is the first-ever combined meeting of these four societies.
 
Infectious diseases are the primary topic of this event and healthcare professionals in attendance will be learning about the latest methods to prevent healthcare associated infections (HAIs).  The costs and risks associated with HAIs are enormous, in fact the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states, “Approximately 1 out of every 20 hospitalized patients will contract an HAI.”
