Xerox iGen4 Press continues to provide print shops with competitive advantage

ROCHESTER, N.Y., – The Xerox iGen™ 150 Press, with its fast production time and repeatable image quality, has captured the attention of print service providers ready to expand their offerings, maximize productivity and ramp up revenues.

One of the most productive digital cut-sheet color presses on the market, the iGen 150 is built on Xerox’s (NYSE: XRX) award-winning iGen platform. On display at Graph Expo, the iGen 150’s larger sheet capacity offers print providers easy job setup and patented image-on-image technology for vivid color output.

Copy General, a Washington, DC-area digital printing company, was the first to install the iGen 150 Press. Within days of operating the new press they experienced more than a 50 percent increase in productivity.

“This press offers offset quality while meeting demanding turnaround times,” said Ken Chaletzky, president, Copy General. “Besides the faster print speed, the improved automation in quality control means more productive hours in a shift.”

Utilizing Xerox’s FreeFlow® Process Manager and uDirect software from XMPie®, A Xerox Company, Copy General uses the press to create a wide variety of customized applications, including personalized direct mail, marketing collateral, full-color training manuals and documentation, posters and book covers.

Conlin’s Digital Print & Copy Center, a 32-year Xerox customer with three locations throughout Pennsylvania, purchased two iGen 150 Presses – continuing their legacy of installing every Xerox digital color machine offered since 1980.

“The 26-inch sheet size is important for productivity gains,” said Bill Conlin, president, Conlin’s Digital Print & Copy Center. “It also lets us add creativity to applications, allowing us to differentiate our offerings to gain a competitive edge.”

Conlin’s will use the presses to expand into new markets and produce applications like manuals, booklets, brochures and business cards, with the help of Xerox’s FreeFlow software and XMPie uStore.

Foresight Group has experienced solid success with its Xerox iGen3® Press – taking advantage of an oversized paper kit to produce applications on larger sheet sizes. With the capability to print on 26-inch paper built into the iGen 150, Foresight is looking for even greater results with the new press.

“Our trust in Xerox’s technology and services made it simple for us to invest in the iGen 150, sight unseen,” said Bill Christofferson, president, Foresight Group.

The full-service communications company, based in Michigan, plans to produce short run print jobs with variable data and new applications, such as booklets, with the new press.

Xerox’s iGen4 Press Continues to Meet Demands
Print service providers continue to invest in the Xerox’s iGen4® Press to produce high-end collateral, direct marketing and photo specialty, including:

-Ditto Documents – installing a second iGen4 press was an easy decision for Pa.-based Ken Shriber, principal, who views the machines as the gateway to new business.

“The iGen4 presses give us a competitive advantage. We are able to crank out more of the applications our customers want, such as six-page brochures, direct mail, photo books and marketing collateral,” said Shriber.

And, instead of outsourcing jobs such as store signage, he’ll produce them in-house with the iGen4, expanding his application offerings and adding to his bottom line.

-Allegra Marketing Services – this full-service marketing firm counts on their iGen4 to deliver personalized, direct mail pieces and creative marketing campaigns.

Louisville-based co-owners Denise Spalding and Jennifer Eberle invested in the press to strengthen its core print business and answer the call for short-run, customized jobs.

“The iGen4 has the print quality of a traditional offset printer and is a great complement to our operations,” said Eberle.

New Performance Tracking Option Available
Xerox’s Production Information Management System is now available on the iGen 150, allowing operators to manage productivity on multiple Xerox presses, in real time, regardless of location.

The iGen 150 Press will be in Xerox’s booth No. 1200 at Graph Expo in Chicago.

Availability and Pricing
The Xerox iGen 150 Press is available for installation worldwide. The list price is $722,000 for its base configuration.
