The NRL Grand Final 2012 will be played on Sunday, September 30th at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.The NRL bowed to fan demands in 2008 to play the Grand Final in the afternoon and the NRL Grand Final kickoff will be at 5.20pm.

The 2011 Grand Final was contested between the Manly Sea Eagles and the New Zealand Warriors.The match was watched by over 80,000 spectators at ANZ Stadium and more than 2 million on television on the broadcaster of the NRL Grand Final, Channel Nine.The 2012 NRL Grand Final will be the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2012 NRL season. It is scheduled to be played on 30 September at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium after the top eight teams are reduced to two over the finals series. Tickets to the grand final were sold out by 22 August, more than two weeks before the top eight was finalised and the finals started.

To decide the grand finalists from the top eight finishing teams, the NRL adopts the AFL finals system, replacing the McIntyre Final Eight System that was used for the past 12 seasons. Only four of last years finalists will feature in this years finals series: Melbourne Storm, Manly Sea Eagles, Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys. For the teams that did not feature last year, the Canberra Raiders last appeared in 2010, the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2009, the Cronulla Sharks in 2008 and the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2007. The Rabbitohs will make only their second finals appearance since 1989.
