Vauxhall has confirmed that its latest creation, the Vauxhall Adam, will be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, alongside its price when it’s released in September. Designed to rival smart superminis such as the Audi A1, Citroen DS3, Fiat 500 and Mini, the Vauxhall Adam is set to make its public debut at the 2012 Paris motor show on 27th September. It will be on sale by then, with initial deliveries expected in January 2013.

Vauxhall has made customisation a central part of the Adam’s appeal, and it promises “almost unlimited visual combinations”, according to its designers. Buyers will be able to choose from a huge selection of exterior and interior colours. The new Vauxhall will be available in three trims - Jam, Glam and Slam - but the manufacturer says there’ll be huge scope to mix and match elements such as the roof panels, door mirrors and interior trim.

Vision Vauxhall knows that the choice of high-tech equipment for the Adam will not disappoint – it features an entertainment system with a seven-inch touch-screen. The system will support internet connectivity via Android or Apple smartphones, Bluetooth and satellite navigation.

Although the full Vauxhall Adam specifications won’t be revealed until the 2012 Paris motor show, Vision Vauxhall has found that the Adam will feature petrol engines only, with options including a 69bhp 1.2 and a 1.4 with either 86bhp or 99bhp. A five-speed manual gearbox will be fitted in all models as standard, with a start/stop system as an option. In late 2013, the Adam will be offered with Vauxhall’s new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

Vauxhall has confirmed the interior will feature luxury materials. Designers have included a large coloured panel on the dash and an optional LED-infused roof lining that gives the impression of twinkling stars, while the instrument display uses all-new mechanical ’clock-style’ instruments with chrome surrounds. You will even be able to get hold of a heated steering wheel, if it takes your fancy.

Prices are currently expected to start from around £11,000 for the new Vauxhall Adam.
