Ontario Association of Home Inspectors Approves EMSL Asbestos Workshop

Understanding Asbestos Workshop - Brampton, ON - September 11, 2012

EMSL Analytical will hold an asbestos workshop on Tuesday, September, 11, 2012 at Courtyard by Marriott Brampton Hotel & Convention Center, 90 Biscayne Crescent Brampton, ON L6W 4S1. Registration will begin at 8:30a.m. and the cost of the workshop is $299.

The course will begin with an overview of asbestos, including its background, uses, and health hazards. Next participants will discuss the life cycle of a typical asbestos project, consisting of inspection, removal, and clearing the area. Afterwards, participants will gain knowledge regarding the various tests for asbestos. Testing options include Bulk Samples by PLM, Bulk Samples by TEM, Air Samples by PCM, Air Samples by TEM, Settled Dust Samples by TEM, Water Samples by TEM, and others such as soil and vermiculite. Participants will then partake in discussion about asbestos’ changing landscape including vermiculite attic insulation, naturally occurring asbestos, asbestos in soil, erionite, and the health concerns of nanoparticles. The workshop will conclude with a current events open discussion about our changing environment.

Participants can earn continuing education credits for attending EMSL’s asbestos workshop, including those from the Ontario Association of Home Inspection (OAHI) which recently approved the course. A full list of credits can be found on our website at the following link.
