Gravit-e Technologies Develops Next-Generation Software for Dyslexic Readers

VANCOUVER, August 7, 2012 - Gravit-e Technologies has finished development of the fourth version of Dynaread’s web application, which provides remedial teaching for dyslexic children.The major work on Version 4 was to incorporate artificial intelligence, allowing the curriculum to be automatically customized for each student, and to deliver full touch screen compatibility, allowing for improved mobile access. With the updated application, Dynaread can deliver a higher quality of treatment, customized to the needs of each student, to a larger volume of students. 

“The work we’ve done for Version 4 of Dynaread not only introduced several new research-driven modules, but also provides a scalable infrastructure to support Dynaread’s growth. The new platform allows Dynaread to work with far more children than would have previously been possible, and will enable it to work directly with schools and other educational institutions,” said Nick Oostveen, president of Gravit-e Technologies.

“Gravit-e has been instrumental in our ongoing process of enhancing scalability and multiplatform/UI compatibility. Compared to our previous IT teams, Gravit-e has been particularly remarkable in their ability to independently develop complex components from conceptual flow diagrams. Where previous IT teams would typically require in-detail instruction, Gravit-e has demonstrated a highly developed ability to understand what we were after and translate that into code. Obviously the underlying design and algorithms came from us, but from that point onward, development proved to be very robust, with few required cycles to reach release quality,” said Hans Dekkers, chief executive officer of Dynaread.

Work began during December, 2011, and all major development was completed in the second quarter of 2012.
