On Saturday, June 9, CommonWealth One helped represent the Virginia Credit Union League at Cabot Creamery’s 2012 Community Tour.  The tour celebrates cooperatives, community service and volunteerism.  This was just one stop on the tour that started in Miami, Florida and finishes in Portland, Maine on July 7th, the International Day of Cooperatives.

The Community Tour was a great way to promote and celebrate all types of cooperatives in the local area.  The atmosphere was upbeat and encouraged the community to come out and support the Tour initiatives.  More than 1,000 attendees were at the event to support cooperatives and the credit union difference.   CommonWealth One was able to spread the word about local credit unions and the credit union movement.  The event mimicked the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” reach their goals.
