RipeVines.com Launches Website To Connect Consumers With Local Produce

WEBWIRE

AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 8, 2012) - RipeVines has launched a new website to provide consumers an easy way to find local produce.  The site is optimized for mobile usage, to allow visitors to easily search for nearby farmers markets, farms, and orchards selling fresh locally grown produce.

“There are so many benefits to eating freshly harvested local produce,” said Matt Gregory, founder of RipeVines.  “Our website provides a user friendly interface with robust search options, to allow consumers to find these sources in their community.”

Gregory added, “Our bigger vision for the site, is to encourage gardeners to list items grown in their backyards for trade, donation, or sale in their local communities.  The site is currently set up for this future expansion.”

Local farms and farmers markets can create free listings on the site, and individuals can submit listings for items grown in their gardens.

The website includes search options for finding local community supported agriculture (CSA) farms. “Joining a local CSA Program is a great way to connect with growers of produce in your community,” said Gregory.  “CSA Programs provide participants with weekly boxes of freshly picked produce from a local farm.”

RipeVines has launched local produce listings in Austin, Seattle, Dallas, Milwaukee, Chicago, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon.  Expansion is expected to continue at a rapid pace across the U.S., and internationally.
