New medical compliance business, Compli With Us, launches its online, total compliance solution for healthcare staffing agencies

Compliance in the flexible, clinical workforce of the NHS has recently got tighter under the procurement frameworks run by the Government Procurement Service (formerly Buying Solutions) and Healthcare Trust Europe. While both government bodies have put clinical governance as a key factor in their procurement, the revolving back door to using ‘off framework’ staffing agencies has been an industry practice when supply of clinical staff has been short. The Chairman and founder Craig Tibbles, together with his business partner, David Jones, launched the business www.compliwithus.com to find a better way to manage compliance other than having to use, up to, a dozen separate service providers, management system workarounds and applying extensive internal staffing resource.

‘I’ve worked in healthcare and the healthcare recruitment business for over 32 years. It is difficult enough for the NHS to achieve an acceptable level of compliance for substantive staff.  The pressures placed on supply agencies are immense in terms of cost, administration and logistics.  The process may be repeated several times for each candidate but eventually this cost is borne by the NHS and the general public,’ says Tibbles.

At the centre of the Compli solution is an application portal, which brings together the individual services for the initial screening and verification, and monitors and manages the annual renewal process. ‘Our total solution is something that the industry needs’ says Tibbles. ‘If it makes the agency staffing business more cost effective and efficient then it will help the NHS too.’

As a former nurse Tibbles is committed to patient care and believes whole heartedly on reducing clinical risk through compliance. His staffing business, Orion, sold nearly two years ago to HCL for a premium based on its compliance ethos.  The Compli solution is unique – the only one of its kind.
