Godden | Sudik Architects, an award-winning Colorado residential architecture firm, notched two more Gold Awards to add to its already impressive collection.  The awards were given during this year’s International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida.

“The Albero” model, offered in Littleton Colorado’s Verona community, won the Gold Award in the Best of 50+ Housing Awards Program for the Best Attached Home More than 1,800 s.f.  “This award affirms our commitment to designing for the rapidly growing 50+ housing market,” said Gary Godden, Principal of the respected architectural firm.  “We appreciate the opportunity to design for this sector of the market.  To be honored with such a prestigious award is a credit to our valued team and our design process,” Godden added.

The second Gold earned by the leading architectural design firm was awarded at the Best in American Living (BALA) Awards Program.  The winner was Godden | Sudik’s “Rosamond” design in the Best Detached Home up to 2,000 s.f. category.  The Rosemond model is offered by Berkeley Homes in Denver’s hot-selling East Park at Lowry community.  “Berkeley Homes gave us a great opportunity to let our design talent shine with the Rosamond,” said Denver residential architect, Scott Sudik.  The Gold Awarded model features:

  • Two-story plan with 1,962 square feet and a wide-open floor plan
  • Home features three bedrooms (or a fourth-bedroom option) and two-and-a-half baths
  • Roomy gourmet kitchen adjacent to great room makes spacious, open layout
  • Well-designed flex space upstairs that can be used as secondary family room, game room or study hall
  • Upper-level master bedroom with tray ceilings
  • Elegant formal dining room
  • Spa-like master bath with large, walk-in closet
  • Oversized two-car garage
  • 719 sq. ft. full, unfinished basement with optional 582 sq. ft. finished basement
  • Spacious rear courtyard area

Now in its 28th year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry including single-family production, custom, rental, affordable, interiors, remodeling, community and international, based on the principle that good design is not and should not be limited to high-priced and/or custom homes.  Even the simplest, most affordable homes can receive an award if they showcase good design. “Yet again in 2011, entries from across the nation continue to push the limits of design and innovation while providing insights into tomorrow’s design trends,” said Lynne Pratt, 2011 Design Committee Chairperson.
