March 19, 2012 - York, UK -- Steve Shaw, article marketing expert and owner of SubmitYourArticle.com’s article submission service, today released valuable article marketing tips for writing great articles. He goes through a 7 step outline on his blog about article marketing success which gives the key to writing articles painlessly. Shaw says “don’t try to write. Just create an outline, and when the outline is done, fill it in.”

Begin by deciding on your article topic. Shaw says: “Write an article that lists mistakes the reader should avoid. That’s a nice change of pace–it’s another form of a list article, but it takes a different approach from your usual “Top Tips” pieces. Think about some common mistakes that people in your niche make, and then write an article chronicling the tips and offering solutions.”

The owner of SubmitYourArticle.com then claims that instead of launching into writing a cohesive first paragraph, it’s best to start by just writing down ideas for information to include in the article. At this stage, spelling and grammar are not a consideration, because the polishing stage will come later.

By jotting ideas down first, the writer can relax–he knows where his article is going and what he’ll be including in it. The next step is to arrange the information.

In reviewing the information in the article and the sequence, a pattern will start to emerge. For an educational article that teaches the reader how to do something, there will be logical steps that need to happen in a certain order.

For articles that contain a list of tips on a specific topic, it’s good to make the first tip be the strongest and the last tip to be the second strongest. Start strong and finish strong. Shaw then suggests you “Flesh out” the points going through the article, start elaborating on ideas and writing in complete sentences.

The next step is to write an introductory and concluding paragraph for your article. The concluding paragraph sums up the main points of the article. It could  alternatively end with a “Homework” section or some “Action Steps”. Once this is complete, proofread it for spelling and grammar issues.
