Zocalo Community Development Awarded Prestigious Apartment Association of Metro Denver “Tribute” Awards for Outstanding Commitment to Excellence and LEED Standards

WEBWIRE

Once every three years, The Apartment Association of Metro Denver recognizes excellence in the apartment industry through a high energy, first class affair called “Tributes” Awards. Tributes honor and celebrate the individuals, properties and companies that have performed above and beyond in the apartment rental industry.

Susan Maxwell, Zocalo Community Development’s Director of Real Estate, was a proud finalist for Most Outstanding Executive, and Zocalo was crowned the winner of the Apartment Association’s Tribute for Most Innovative Use of Technology for their LEED-Gold Solera building located in Downtown Denver.

Zocalo Community Development, a leading environmentally conscious real estate development company, recently announced the sale of Solera, which fetched $37 million in a deal with a New Jersey real estate company. The sale of the downtown Denver apartment building was a record for the state of Colorado and garnered the attention of the Denver Business Journal, Inside Real Estate, the Denver Post and Yahoo! Finance.

Solera is downtown Denver’s first LEED-Gold certified apartment building.  Solera features a slew of earth-friendly finishes, including Energy-star rated appliances and high-efficiency lighting. A Personal Energy Monitor is also provided in each unit to help residents become more educated about their energy usage, saving residents up to 50 percent in energy bills. Located at 20th and Lawrence streets, Solera is just blocks away from some of Denver’s best restaurants, shops and entertainment.

In September, Zocalo Community Development announced plans to build a 13-story, 220-unit downtown Denver apartment project at 17th & Chestnut streets, in the heart of Denver’s Union Station. When construction starts early next year, it will be the second Zocalo Community Development project under development in downtown Denver. The other, 2020 Lawrence, is a 231-unit apartment building located a block away from Solera. Both new apartment rental projects will also be LEED-Gold certified apartment buildings.  Visit ZocaloDevelopment.com to learn more about our current projects and third party management capabilities.
