Pop Chameleon Joett Re-releases Single In 70s Disco Genre

Tanzanian pop singer-songrwiter Joett is re-releasing his highly acclaimed single “I Could Never Live (Without Your Love)” with a 70s Disco Remix as the leadoff track.

Tanzanian pop singer-songwriter Joett is re-releasing his highly acclaimed single “I Could Never Live (Without Your Love)” with a 70s Disco Remix as the leadoff track. Distributed by US-based Island Def Jam Digital Distribution, the track will be available for download on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, MusicNet, Napster, TuneCore and a host of other download sites from November 7th 2011. The CD version of the promotional single—currently unavailable for sale—includes 6 tracks: the new Boogie Remix, the Radio Edit, Remix, Original Acoustic Version, Boogie Remix Instrumental and Original Acoustic Guitar Instrumental.

“I’d asked my London producer Patrick Jonsson to create a 70s disco version of my current single based on 70s group Shalamar,” said Joett. “The outcome is a uniquely Joett I Could Never Live (Without Your Love) track but with a very seventies Shalamar feel to it. I love the sound!” Joett, who recently became a member of the American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), gives co-writing credit to the reworked track to his producers Patrick Jonsson and Ken Kanyeria whom he says, “both played a major role in breathing new life into this song... I think the three of us make a great songwriting team.” With smooth backing vocals performed by London-based singer Tori Beamont, courtesy of London-based Ignition Sound, the track has been reinvented—an art form fast becoming synonymous with reinvented 80s pop singer Joett. Two dance videos from two versions of the single are now on the drawing board and slated for production and release just in time for Christmas 2011.
