Adobe Appoints New Vice President of Worldwide Education Marketing

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the appointment of Jon Perera as vice president of Worldwide Education Marketing.

Reporting to Ann Lewnes, senior vice president of global marketing, Perera will lead Adobe’s K-12 and higher education marketing strategy, field execution and demand generation initiatives. Perera’s global responsibilities will also include partner relations, education solution marketing and curriculum and business development.

Perera joins Adobe from Microsoft, where he was general manager of the company’s Academic Programs group and spearheaded marketing initiatives including the Imagine Cup, DreamSpark and the Microsoft Faculty Connection program. Previously, Perera served as general manager of business operations for Microsoft’s international headquarters in Paris, France. While in Europe, he helped create Microsoft’s strategy to bring technology and education to children in emerging markets such as Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Chile, Russia, India and Brazil.

Perera has spent nearly 20 years in the software industry in a variety of marketing, technical and field positions. He has held several leadership roles at Microsoft including overseeing Microsoft’s Security portfolio and helping to establish the Application Platform approach across Windows Server, SQL Server and Visual Studio. He has also served on the board of the Technology Access Foundation, which helps children of color in public schools prepare for college.
