Architect Jesús Marino Pascual, the driving force behind projects such as the Vivanco Wine Museum, is to give a talk on La Rioja wine architecture in the Universidade Unisinos in Porto Alegre

The wine tourism model developed by the autonomous region of La Rioja, where art, architecture and the region’s deeply-rooted wine culture fuse together, will be presented in Brazil under the wing of architect, Jesús Marino Pascual, the driving force behind key wine architecture projects in La Rioja such as the Dinastía Vivanco Wine Culture Museum and the Darien bodega. The Navarra-born architect will travel together with curator and art expert, Enrique Martínez Glera to take part in an international symposium titled ‘Philosophy & Wine’ which will take place from 8th to 22nd November in the Universidade Unisinos in Porto Alegre.

Jesús Marino Pascual, who recently received an Arts Award from the La Rioja Regional Government, is in charge of presenting the region’s wine tourism model, owing to his extensive experience in state-of-the-art bodega design, which offers a comprehensive wine tourism experience where architecture, art and the region’s winemaking tradition are brought together as one. This unique concept of wine tourism caught the attention of experts at the Universidade Unisinos, located in the Brazilian wine region of Río Grande do Sul, whose winemaking tradition dates from the 17th century.

As well as Jesús Marino Pascual’s intervention, the event also boasts the presence of Professor Enrique Martínez Glera, who will be taking a look at wine culture from its beginnings in ancient civilizations up to and including its current significance for the community of La Rioja.

Wine architecture is one of the main attractions of wine tourism in La Rioja and a distinguishing feature which puts the region in the vanguard of a new architectural concept which aims to integrate buildings within their surroundings, not only from an environmental but also from a cultural point of view.
