LSI Corporation Again Named No. 1 in Its Industry as Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace

Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption also names LSI No. 3 in the nation

MILPITAS, Calif. - LSI Corporation (NYSE: LSI) ranked No. 1 in its industry for the second year in a row on the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List released by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. LSI also ranked No. 3 in the nation overall as well as No. 3 in the large employer size category.

Rankings for the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List are determined by an analysis of a company’s adoption benefits available to employees who adopt, such as financial reimbursement and paid leave. The Foundation compiled the results from its annual survey of U.S. employers.

"Families beginning the process of adoption are embarking on a life-changing journey,” said Gautam Srivastava, senior vice president of human resources at LSI. “The steps involved in growing a family through adoption take time and substantial resources. LSI believes in the importance of financially assisting and otherwise supporting employees in their efforts to create a family.”

Today, more than 107,000 children in U.S. foster care are available for adoption. Each year, nearly 26,000 of these youths will end up leaving the system upon turning 18 without having ever been adopted by a family. The release of the fifth annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List helps the Foundation increase foster care adoption awareness while celebrating those businesses that support adoptive families.
