WEBWIRE

Bloomington, Ill. – State Farm® is ready for Hurricane Irene when and where it likely impacts the East Coast. The company is positioning key personnel to prepare for Irene’s landfall and is ensuring company disaster recovery lines of communication are open, clear and ready in advance of the storm.

Customers in areas likely to be impacted by the storm are receiving calls from State Farm’s automated calling system with advice for protecting themselves, their homes, and property.

State Farm’s state-of-the-art Catastrophe Team, a mobile workforce of experienced claim representatives, is ready to respond quickly – and wirelessly – when Hurricane Irene impacts our customers. On the ground and in customer support centers, the largest claims team in the industry is ready to work with state-based company employees, agents and their staff who are spread across Irene’s potential impact area. These people are ready to begin assisting policyholders as soon as local emergency responders allow access.

Catastrophe Response Vehicles will be dispatched to the most severely damaged areas. When Irene makes landfall, these vehicles will move into impacted areas to support State Farm claim representatives as they begin the claim process. Additionally, hundreds of claim representatives are standing by and ready to take the calls from customers in three national Catastrophe Call Centers located in Jacksonville, Florida; Dallas, Texas; and Frederick, Maryland.

State Farm is advising policyholders that if their property is damaged as a result of Hurricane Irene, they should contact their State Farm Agent or call 1-800-SF-CLAIM.
